Spring in the Lakes

Its been a while since we updated you on our blog... apologies for that!  We had a very exciting winter, our Interior Designer won Best International Hotel Interior Design in January at a very glitzy awards ceremony held at the Savoy in London.  Alison was given the award based on work carried out at Cedar Manor, so we are all very proud of her.  Caroline enjoyed the evening too!

Here is  picture of Alison being interviewed by the BBC, right in the middle of our lounge,

just a few days after winning the award.

Have a great Easter break and we look forward to catching up with you again soon!

The Coach House gets rave reviews

...in a word, SUBLIME."

Our Coach House Suite has only been open for a couple of weeks and already we’re getting rave views online. We can’t help feeling really chuffed with this one which appeared last week on Trip Advisor.

“The Coach House Suite has been entirely renovated, and is in a word, SUBLIME. It was the perfect temperature, and completely silent (not to mention lavishly decorated and fitted with all the mod cons)!

I booked a two night stay in the Coach House Suite as I was planning to propose to my girlfriend on our weekend away. I was expecting an enjoyable experience, and we definitely got one!

On our arrival (which was late in anyone's book) the welcome we got made us feel right at home straight away. This was topped off by the fact that on exploring the suite, we found a personal postcard along with some local nibbles, chocolates and fantastic damson gin for two!

The suite is fantastic, completely separate from the main hotel (which itself is lovely, but it’s nice to have some privacy sometimes!) and set over two floors, Jon and Caroline have thought of everything. The Jacuzzi bath was very relaxing, the bed extremely comfortable, and the sound system rather fun!

I decided to have dinner served in our suite on the Saturday night, and have to say Caroline's service was above and beyond, they really are perfect hosts! The food was simply brilliant, a special mention going to the lamb, which was the nicest I think I have ever tasted. The breakfast wasn't too shabby either, again, special mention to the pancakes, the vegetarian sausages and the home made jams. The other staff were also very friendly and attentive.

This was my first visit to the Lake District and Jon and Caroline were very helpful when pointing me in the right direction.

P.S. She said yes! :D”

We've done it!

Click here to see the Coach House Suite picture gallery

After months of hard work from the best crafts people around, the fabulous new Coach House Suite is now open to welcome guests. As the pictures show, this is a haven of luxurious and hedonistic pleasure for anyone looking for somewhere really special to stay in the Lake District.

The interior design theme of The Coach House Suite is a celebration of our local environment.

Working with award winning interior architect & designer, Alison Tordoff, we’ve taken great care to bring our guests the best quality products and artisan skills available in the Lake District area to create an overall feeling of opulent splendour. The carpeting is made by local specialists Wools of Cumbria Carpets, and all furniture is hand made by Lakeland Fells, a specialist joinery and furniture firm.

To help minimise our carbon footprint, we’ve invested in the latest heat and temperature control systems which will keep our guests warm or cool as required, while providing optimal energy efficiency.

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank very one involved for their hard work in getting this massive project to completion.

We’re now open for bookings. So call us today to book your special visit to The Coach House or click here to book online.
